Milan Lucic scored the winning goal with 3:42 to play and the Boston Bruins extending their winning streak to seven games with a 2-1 victory over the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night.
Tim Thomas turned aside 27 shots and Steve Kampfer also scored as the Bruins moved two points ahead of the Lightning for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.
Eric Brewer had the only goal for Tampa Bay, which fell to 3-18-4 in its last 25 visits to Boston.
Lucic lifted a shot over a pile of fallen players in the crease for his 28th goal of the season in the Bruins' first home game since returning from a perfect 6-0-0 road trip.
Mike Smith had 26 saves for the Lightning in his first appearance since Dec. 18.
Brewer's goal at 4:04 of the second period, his ninth of the season, marked the sixth consecutive game in which the Lightning have scored first. Kampfer pulled the Bruins even 2:02 later with his fifth goal of the season and first since Jan. 13.
