Ducks 2, Kings 1 (OT)
Corey Perry scored 1:32 into overtime as the Anaheim Ducks skated to a 2-1 road triumph over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday in a battle of Pacific Division rivals.
Rookie Brandon McMillan collected his 10th goal of the season for Anaheim (39-27-5), which has won seven of its last nine to remain one point shy of a playoff berth. The Ducks trail both the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks (38-25-8) and the Nashville Predators (37-25-10) for the honor.
After stopping 30 of 31 shots in a 2-1 triumph over the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday, Ray Emery made 31 saves to pick up his second win of the season.
In overtime, Perry accepted a long feed from rookie defenseman Cam Fowler and then beat Jonathan Quick for his 37th goal of the season and sixth in four games.
McMillan opened the scoring with 4:36 remaining in the first period. The 20-year-old British Columbia native won a faceoff in the neutral zone and later wristed a shot past Quick for his 10th goal of the season and first since Feb. 27.
Captain Dustin Brown leveled the contest with 8:56 remaining in the third period for Los Angeles (40-26-6), which fell to 1-3-2 in its last six at the Staples Center.
Quick finished with 23 saves to fall for the ninth time in 13 outings at home.
