Blues 4, Oilers 0

T.J. Oshie collected a goal and an assist and Jaroslav Halak only needed to turn aside 12 shots as the St. Louis Blues breezed to a 4-0 home triumph over the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday.

Chris Stewart netted his 10th goal with his new team, Matt D'Agostini scored for the fifth time in seven contests and Adam Cracknell also tallied as St. Louis (33-32-9) snapped a two-game losing skid with its second win in six outings.

Halak secured his sixth shutout of the season and 15th career by stopping five shots in the first and second periods and two in the third. The 25-year-old Halak improved to 2-0-1 in three career starts against the Oilers.

Oshie opened the scoring with 92 seconds remaining in the second period. D'Agostini and Stewart netted power-play tallies just over six minutes apart in the third period to essentially seal the win.

Nikolai Khabibulin finished with 26 saves for NHL cellar-dwelling Edmonton (23-41-10), which has mustered just seven goals during its eight-game losing skid (0-6-2).
