Penguins 4, Devils 2
Pascal Dupuis scored a pair of goals and Jordan Staal notched a tally and an assist as the Pittsburgh Penguins posted a 4-2 victory over the visiting New Jersey Devils on Tuesday.
Chris Kunitz also tallied and All-Star Marc-Andre Fleury made 22 saves for the Penguins, who climbed within one point of Philadelphia for first place in the Atlantic Division. Pittsburgh has won eight of its last 11 games overall and four of six at home.
David Steckel and Brian Rolston scored while Johan Hedberg stopped 23 shots for the Devils, who have lost four straight road games and seven of 10 overall.
Pittsburgh grabbed a 1-0 lead when Staal skated around a defender in the left faceoff circle and flipped the puck over Hedberg during a power play with 2:23 remaining in the first period.
Steckel knotted the game at 15:08 of the second with his first point in 16 games since being acquired from Washington on Feb. 28. But Dupuis put the Penguins ahead for good 63 seconds later by burying a rebound on the doorstep, and Kunitz made it 3-1 just 91 seconds into the third.
Rolston netted his second goal in 14 games at 4:32, but Dupuis sealed the win with a shorthanded tally, firing a long shot into the net as Hedberg was headed toward the bench for an extra attacker.
