Ducks 4, Canucks 3

Andrew Cogliano recorded a goal and an assist during a four-goal second period and the Anaheim Ducks held on to halt their six-game losing streak with a 4-3 home victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Friday.

Saku Koivu, Corey Perry and Peter Holland also scored while Jonas Hiller made 38 saves for Anaheim, which improved to 3-1-2 in its last six meetings with Vancouver.

Teemu Selanne notched an assist for his 1,355th career point, snapping a tie with Brendan Shanahan for 24th place on the all-time list.

After a scoreless first period, Anaheim erupted for four goals in the second period. Koivu began the outburst at the 25-second mark, and Cogliano and Perry cashed in during a five-minute power play created when Vancouver defenseman Aaron Rome elbowed Devante Smith-Pelly in the head.

Holland completed the Ducks' biggest offensive period of the season at 17:22 with his first career goal.

The Canucks made a furious comeback attempt in the third, scoring three times while outshooting the Ducks by a 22-2 margin.

Kevin Bieksa got things started at 4:32 by converting a power-play chance and Jannik Hansen scored twice in a span of less than four minutes for his second career two-goal performance.

Daniel Sedin registered two assists and Roberto Luongo yielded four goals on 19 shots over two periods for Vancouver, which concluded a 3-3-0 road trip.
