Bruins 4, Maple Leafs 1
David Krejci and Nathan Horton each had a goal and an assist as the Boston Bruins continued their mastery over Toronto - and their incredible points streak - with a 4-1 home triumph Saturday night.
The Bruins improved to 13-0-1 in their last 14 games, with three of those victories coming at the expense of the Maple Leafs. Boston has won all four meetings with Toronto this season, outscoring its Northeast Division rival 23-6.
The Bruins opened the scoring at 4:20 after controlling the play up until that point. Zdeno Chara forced a turnover at the Toronto blueline and the puck wound up in the right corner, where Horton's centering pass was one-timed by Krejci past returning Maple Leafs netminder James Reimer.
After Mikhail Grabovski drew Toronto even just 48 seconds later, Chris Kelly put the Bruins ahead for good just past the 13-minute mark, converting a nifty feed from Rich Peverley for his seventh goal in the past 10 games.
Johnny Boychuk gave Boston a two-goal cushion early in the third period, whistling a slapshot past Reimer moments after laying a big hit on Toronto center Tim Connolly.
Horton put the game out of reach at 14:26, redirecting a Krejci shot to end a five-game goalless drought.
Reimer turned aside 26 shots in his first action since missing 18 games with concussion symptoms.
