Predators 3, Ducks 2
Roman Josi's first career NHL goal helped the Nashville Predators resume their dominance over Anaheim with a 3-2 win over the visiting Ducks on Saturday night.
With the score tied at 1-1 after a defensive 40 minutes, Josi put the Predators up on a power play at 2:33 with a slapshot from the point that fooled Anaheim netminder Dan Ellis.
Jordin Tootoo, in his return from a two-game suspension, made it 3-1 less than three minutes later with a well-placed wrist shot from the bottom of the right circle.
Anaheim's Francois Beauchemin converted a Teemu Selanne pass from the slot with 6:36 remaining, but the Predators held on from there to improve to 9-2-1 in their last 12 games against the Ducks.
Andrew Gordon opened the scoring 38 seconds into the middle period, slapping a centering pass from Brandon McMillan between the pads of Nashville netminder Pekka Rinne from a bad angle.
Nashville countered at 12:03, as Nick Spaling skated untouched into the slot and wristed a shot that beat Ellis up high.
