Flames 3, Oilers 0
Jarome Iginla scored twice and Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 21 shots as the Calgary Flames continued their mastery over the Edmonton Oilers, cruising to a 3-0 home win Saturday night.
Iginla's eighth and ninth points in the last five games helped the Flames extend their winning streak over the Oilers to eight. Kiprusoff wasn't tested often but was solid when he had to be as he earned his 42nd career shutout, and third against Edmonton.
Calgary opened the scoring on a power play at 13:45 of the second period. With one second remaining in Sam Gagner's minor penalty for slashing, Tom Kostopoulos banged a loose puck past Devan Dubnyk after Derek Smith's initial shot didn't make it to the net.
The goal was Kostopoulos' first point in 12 games.
Iginla doubled the advantage in the final minute with a blast from the edge of the left circle that beat Dubnyk to the top corner.
Oilers defenseman Ladislav Smid left after taking an Olli Jokinen high stick in the mouth. Smid lay on the ice checking his mouth for missing teeth before heading to the dressing room.
