Ducks 5, Stars 2
Saku Koivu recorded his second career hat trick and Jeff Deslauriers made 26 saves in his Anaheim debut as the Ducks extended their winning streak to three games with a 5-2 home victory over the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.
Defenseman Luca Sbisa and Matt Beleskey also scored while Teemu Selanne notched two assists for Anaheim, which concluded a 3-3-0 homestand. The Ducks scored more than four goals for the second straight game and third time all season.
Koivu opened the scoring 90 seconds into the game by deflecting blue-liner Toni Lydman's slap shot from the left point past Lehtonen.
After Dallas rallied from a two-goal deficit to knot the contest, Koivu took a drop pass in the left faceoff circle from Selanne and beat Kari Lehtonen with a backhander at 9:32, giving the Ducks a 3-2 edge.
Beleskey doubled the lead by burying a rebound in the left circle with 5:20 remaining, and Koivu completed his hat trick with an empty-netter in the final minute.
Anaheim carried a 2-0 lead into the third period as Sbisa beat Lehtonen with a shot from along the left-wing boards midway through the second.
Steve Ott got the Stars on the board at 1:39 of the third with a blast from the top of the left faceoff circle. Defenseman Alex Goligoski forged a tie 64 seconds later as he beat Deslauriers, who was recalled from the minors earlier in the day, with a wrister from the top of the right circle.
Ott added an assist and Lehtonen stopped 21 shots for Dallas, which had won three in a row against Anaheim.
