Predators 4, Flyers 2
Martin Erat, Sergei Kostitsyn and Mike Fisher each notched a goal and an assist as the Nashville Predators extended their winning streak to four games with a 4-2 home victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.
Nick Spaling also scored and Pekka Rinne made 36 saves for Nashville, which has won 10 of 12 at home and seven of eight overall.
Erat gave the Predators a 1-0 lead when his shot from the right faceoff circle sailed between teammate Patric Hornqvist's legs in front and past a screened Ilya Bryzgalov during a power play with 58 seconds remaining in the first period.
Bryzgalov was screened again with 9 1/2 minutes left in the second as Kostitsyn scored from the top of the slot following a turnover by Philadelphia rookie Brayden Schenn.
Spaling put Nashville ahead 3-1 when Jordin Tootoo's backhanded pass caromed off his body and into the net 4 1/2 minutes into the third. Fisher sealed the win with an empty-net goal in the final minute.
Rookie Sean Couturier and Wayne Simmonds each registered a goal and an assist for the Flyers, who completed a 2-2-0 road trip. Couturier extended his goal-scoring streak to four games after going 21 contests without a tally.
Philadelphia failed to earn a point for just the second time in 10 meetings with Nashville (3-2-5).
