Blues 1, Stars 0

T.J. Oshie scored with 8 1/2 minutes to play to lift the streaking St. Louis Blues to a 1-0 victory over the visiting Dallas Stars on Monday night.

Jaroslav Halak turned aside 22 shots for his third shutout of the season and second in three games as the Blues won their NHL-best 19th home game (19-3-3).

St. Louis improved to 6-0-1 in its last seven games and moved into a tie with the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Rangers with a league-high 60 points.

Oshie finally broke a scoreless duel, taking a pass from David Perron as he skated in on net and deked Kari Lehtonen before tumbling over the Dallas goaltender.

It was Oshie's 14th goal of the season and sixth in 10 career games against the Stars, helping St. Louis improve to 11-0-2 in its last 13 home games.

Halak won his fifth consecutive start and earned his 19th career shutout. He denied Eric Nystrom on a breakaway with 12 minutes left to remain unbeaten in regulation in his last 12 (9-0-3).

The Blues are 21-5-6 since Ken Hitchcock replaced Davis Payne in early November.

Dallas came in short on manpower after leading scorer and All-Star Jamie Benn underwent an appendectomy Sunday and Mike Ribeiro (knee) landed on injured reserve Monday after missing the previous three games.
