Flames 3 ,Canucks 2 (SO)
Olli Jokinen and Jarome Iginla scored shootout goals as the Calgary Flames defeated the visiting Vancouver Canucks 3-2 Saturday night.
Following an entertaining overtime period that featured a lengthy stretch of 3-on-3 action, Jokinen kicked off the shootout by slipping a puck between the pads of Vancouver netminder Roberto Luongo.
Vancouver's Alex Burrows evened the sudden-death format with a shot between Calgary netminder Miikka Kiprusoff's legs, but Iginla restored Calgary's edge by deking repeatedly before beating Luongo with a low forehand.
Kiprusoff clinched the win for the Flames, getting a pad on Mason Raymond's attempt in the third round.
Michael Cammalleri and Roman Horak had regulation goals for the Flames, who have points in five straight games (3-0-2).
Cody Hodgson and David Booth countered for the Canucks, who lost for just the second time in the past eight contests.
