Canucks 5, Oilers 2

CANUCKS 5, OILERS 2: Henrik and Daniel Sedin each recorded a goal and an assist as Vancouver kicked off a six-game road trip with a convincing triumph over Edmonton.

Chris Higgins and defensemen Sami Salo and Kevin Bieksa also scored while Alex Burrows registered a pair of assists for the Canucks, who improved to 7-0-2 in February.

After combining for eight points in Saturday's win over Toronto, the Sedins wasted little time getting started against Edmonton, teaming up to give Vancouver a 1-0 lead just 53 seconds into the contest. Daniel Sedin made a cross-slot pass from the left faceoff circle to Henrik, who beat Nikolai Khabibulin from near the right post for his 13th goal.

Henrik Sedin set up Salo for a goal during a 5-on-3 power play less than six minutes later and Daniel Sedin put the Canucks ahead 5-2 only 33 seconds into the third when he one-timed a pass from Alex Burrows past Devan Dubnyk following a turnover in the left circle.

Shawn Horcoff and Magnus Paajarvi scored for the Oilers, who lost in regulation at home for just the second time in seven games (4-2-1). Edmonton has dropped five of six overall.
