PREDATORS 3, CANUCKS 1: Mike Fisher had a goal and two assists and Pekka Rinne made 32 saves to help Nashville continue its recent run of strong play at home by taking down streaking Vancouver.
Sergei Kostitsyn and David Legwand each scored and Martin Erat had a pair of assists as the Predators found a way to solve Roberto Luongo while improving to 8-0-1 their past nine home games.
Dale Weise scored for the Canucks, who suffered their first regulation loss in 14 games (10-1-3).
Nashville built a 2-0 lead in the second period. While on the power play, Ryan Suter worked the puck through the middle to Erat, who sent a backdoor pass that Fisher finished for his 18th at 5:42. The Predators later broke out on a shorthanded 3-on-2, with Fisher feeding Kostitsyn for the tally.
Weise got one back at 16:52. The Predators failed to clear the puck off the boards when Weise retrieved it and sent it home with a backhand.
Legwand added an insurance goal with just under three minutes to play on a slapshot for his 14th of the season.
Luongo, who had been 5-0-0 in five previous starts against Nashville, stopped 25 shots.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Defenseman Hal Gill, acquired Friday from Montreal, made his home debut for the Predators and recorded an assist. … Henrik and Daniel Sedin were held scoreless after combining for 12 points in the three prior series meetings this season. … Kostitsyn was goalless in five games coming in.
