ISLANDERS 4, RANGERS 3 (SO): Matt Moulson scored in the fourth round of the shootout and P.A. Parenteau had two goals to lift the host Islanders over the Rangers.

With the shootout tied entering the fourth round, Moulson beat Martin Biron low blocker-side to seal the victory. Frans Nielsen and Marian Gaborik both scored in the first round of the shootout.

Parenteau netted his 13th and 14th goals of the season to deny the Rangers a fourth straight win over the Islanders.

Moulson collected a goal an assist. He now has seven points in five games versus the Rangers this season.

All-Star John Tavares and Andrew MacDonald each added two assists for the Isles.

With the Rangers trailing 3-2 in the second period. Derek Stepan unleashed a wrister on the power play that deflected off Islanders defenseman Travis Hamonic and into the goal late in the period. Gaborik assisted on the play to cap a two-point performance.

Defenseman Marc Staal also tallied for the Rangers, who have lost three of four contests for the first time since October.

Evgeni Nabokov made 33 saves for his 15th win of the season in his return to the lineup after a bout with the flu.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hamonic returned to the lineup after sitting out since Feb. 4 with a broken nose. ... The Rangers have posted a 14-4-2 record in their last 20 games on the road.
