LIGHTNING 6, BRUINS 1: Steven Stamkos recorded two goals, including his 50th of the season, and host Tampa Bay scored four times in the first period.
Rookie goaltender Dustin Tokarski earned his first NHL victory with 33 saves and defenseman Victor Hedman added a goal and an assist as the Lightning snapped a three-game losing streak.
Jordan Caron scored for Boston, which has dropped five of seven. The Bruins finished with a 34-17 edge in shots.
Bruins goaltender Marty Turco, making his first NHL start this season, allowed three goals in the first 4:31. Tom Pyatt got the first when Ryan Malone’s pass went in off his skate at 1:56. Nate Thompson scored 30 seconds later on a rebound and Ryan Shannon took a nifty pass from Hedman for a breakaway goal to make it 3-0.
Tim Thomas replaced Turco and surrendered Hedman’s goal, a blast from the high slot that deflected into the upper corner off a Bruins stick at 15:38. Turco returned to play the rest of the game after Stamkos’ 49th only 3:06 into the second period.
Stamkos earned his second 50-goal season in three years with 8:17 remaining.
Defenseman Brian Lee added two assists for the Lightning, who allowed only two shots in the first period.
