Wild 2, Flames 1 (OT)
Zach Parise snapped a three-game goalless drought 27 seconds into overtime on the power play as Minnesota edged visiting Calgary.
Parise received a pass from captain Mikko Koivu on the right side of the crease and sent a backhander over Joey MacDonald’s glove for the winner. Rookie Jason Zucker scored with 4:19 remaining in the third period and Niklas Backstrom made 20 saves for the Wild, who dropped a 3-1 decision at the Flames on Saturday.
Alex Tanguay scored a power-play goal and MacDonald stopped 28 shots as Calgary missed a chance to secure a season-high three-game winning streak.
The Flames needed only seven seconds of a man advantage in the first period to take the lead. Mike Cammalleri sent a wrist shot toward the net and Tanguay tipped it up and over Backstrom for a 1-0 lead midway through the period.
Calgary held Minnesota off the scoresheet until late in regulation. Devin Setoguchi fired a slap shot from the blue line on the right side and Zucker streaked in from the left to collect the puck and shoot it past MacDonald to tie the game at 1-1.
