Jets 4, Lightning 3 (SO)

Captain Andrew Ladd scored twice in regulation and once in the shootout as host Winnipeg won its season-high fourth in a row to pull even in points with the eighth-place New York Rangers.

Ladd also had an assist and Blake Wheeler chipped in with a goal and two assists for the Jets, who are technically in ninth after playing one more game than the Rangers. Ondrej Pavelec made 24 saves and Mike Santorelli also converted in the shootout for Winnipeg, which let a 3-1 lead evaporate in the third period.

Martin St. Louis, Steven Stamkos and Pierre-Cedric Labrie registered goals for Tampa Bay, which is 1-4-2 in its last seven games. Ben Bishop turned aside 33 shots for the Lightning, who could not convert on their two shootout opportunities.

Ladd gave Winnipeg a 1-0 lead 1:23 into the game, beating Bishop through the legs from the top of the left faceoff circle after a Tampa Bay turnover. St. Louis responded when he intercepted defenseman Ron Hainsey’s clearing attempt and one-timed a shot past Pavelec at 10:27.

Wheeler flipped a shot over a fallen Bishop from the right side of the net at 8:37 of the second and Ladd added a power-play goal later in the period for a 3-1 lead. Labrie banked a shot in off Winnipeg defenseman Dustin Byfuglien 5:19 into the third and Stamkos whipped a shot past Pavelec with 8:43 left in regulation.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Winnipeg was 1-for-3 on the power play, matching its output in the previous eight contests. … Bishop posted a 4-0 mark in the shootout with the Ottawa Senators. ... Ladd has four goals in the last three games and owns a five-game point streak.
