Blues 2, Canucks 1 (SO): Andy McDonald and Alex Steen scored in the shootout as host St. Louis rallied to defeat Vancouver and present Ken Hitchcock with his 600th coaching victory.

Brian Elliott stopped 21 shots and defenseman Jay Bouwmeester tied the game midway through the third period with his first goal for the Blues, who remained one point behind Minnesota for the sixth spot in the Western Conference. The Wild skated to a 5-3 win over Edmonton on Tuesday.

Defenseman Alexander Edler scored on a power play for the Northwest Division-leading Canucks, who dropped to 2-1-1 on their five-game road trip. Cory Schneider made 35 saves.

McDonald beat Schneider with a forehand deke to open the shootout and Steen fired a wrist shot from the slot to cap the comeback after Derek Roy and Alex Burrows failed to convert for Vancouver. St. Louis is 4-1 in the bonus format, while Vancouver fell to 4-6.

With Vladimir Sobotka serving a holding penalty, Edler fired a point shot through traffic to open the scoring with 13 seconds remaining in the second period. Bouwmeester skated in before beating Schneider with a wrist shot at 10:50 of the third as the Blues improved to 5-12-1 when trailing after two periods.
