Blackhawks 5, Oilers 1

Andrew Shaw collected two goals and an assist and Patrick Kane also scored to match a career high with an 11-game point streak as Chicago posted its third straight victory on a seven-game road trip.

Captain Jonathan Toews netted a short-handed goal and defenseman Johnny Oduya also tallied for the Blackhawks, who played their second straight contest without Marian Hossa (personal matter). Blue-liner Duncan Keith and Brandon Saad each notched a pair of assists and Corey Crawford turned aside 24 shots in the win.

Defenseman Justin Schultz scored his second goal in three games and NHL Third Star of the Week Devan Dubnyk yielded four goals on 14 shots before he was relieved by Ilya Bryzgalov. The eccentric Russian made his team debut and finished with 12 saves as the Oilers saw their season-high three-game winning streak come to an end.

Toews opened the scoring 5:14 into the contest after taking advantage of a turnover before beating Dubnyk on a breakaway. The 12th tally pulled the captain even with Kane for the team lead, but the reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner netted his 13th just under three minutes later after lifting a loose puck into the net from the doorstep.

Oduya's blast from the point caromed off Dubnyk and defenseman Corey Potter before banking into the net at 1:28 of the second period. Shaw's tap-in 4:21 later brought an early end of the evening for Dubnyk as Chicago breezed to victory.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Kane, who has six goals and nine assists during his point streak, also had an 11-game stretch from Dec. 22, 2009-Jan. 9, 2010.
