Sabres 3, Maple Leafs 2 (OT)
Defenseman Christian Ehrhoff scored 35 seconds into overtime to give Buffalo its 13th win in 15 home contests against Toronto.
Matt Moulson scored on a power play and Luke Adam tallied with 1:10 remaining in the second period for the Sabres, who snapped a five-game losing streak. Ryan Miller stopped 22 shots while making his fifth consecutive start.
Phil Kessel scored his team-leading 14th goal and Nikolai Kulemin added his second for the Maple Leafs, who fell to 0-3-3 on the road in November. James Reimer made 26 saves.
Ehrhoff blasted a point shot that fooled Reimer through traffic seconds after a penalty to Toronto defenseman Paul Ranger expired. Ranger was whistled late in the third period for holding Sabres forward Ville Leino, who finished with two assists.
Kessel opened the scoring on a rush with a quick wrist shot from in close 2:12 into the game, but Moulson deposited a feed from Leino off a rebound while Ranger was serving another holding penalty to tie the game 7:57 into the second. Trevor Smith flipped the puck in front from behind the net and Kulemin batted it out of the air at 10:23 of the second to restore Toronto’s advantage, but Adam fired a juicy rebound past a sprawled Reimer to knot the game at 2-2.
