Oilers 2, Flames 0
Ryan Smyth scored twice and Devan Dubnyk turned aside 27 shots for his eighth career shutout as visiting Edmonton improved to 2-0-1 against its provincial rival.
Boyd Gordon notched two assists and Ales Hemsky had one as the Oilers have won two straight following a season-high six-game losing streak.
Reto Berra finished with 26 saves for the Flames, who have dropped five of six (1-3-2).
Edmonton opened the scoring with 2:38 remaining in the first period as Hemsky's sharp-angle bid from the lower edge of the right faceoff circle caromed off the left shoulder of Smyth and into the net. The veteran, who snapped a 13-game goalless streak, had been held off the scoresheet in each of his previous six contests.
Calgary captain Mark Giordano's point shot rang off both posts before squirting out early in the third period. Smyth ended the suspense with an empty-net goal and Dubnyk snapped a three-start losing streak by securing his second shutout of the season.
