Canucks 2, Flames 0
Eddie Lack turned aside 18 shots for his second career shutout as visiting Vancouver ended a long layoff with a convincing win over Calgary.
Starting in place of the injured Roberto Luongo, Lack wasn't busy but was effective when he had to be, handing the Flames their second consecutive shutout loss. Jannik Hansen and Mike Santorelli scored for the Canucks in their first game in seven days.
Reto Berra made 28 saves for Calgary, which has dropped six of seven. The Flames haven't won a game in regulation since Dec. 4.
Hansen kicked off the scoring in the final minute of the opening period, gathering a long lead pass from captain Henrik Sedin and skating in alone before firing a high shot past Berra. Vancouver stifled the Flames from there, limiting them to eight shots through 40 minutes.
Calgary pressed for the equalizer early in the third, but TJ Galiardi fanned on a backhand attempt from the slot and Lack smothered the puck on the ensuing goalmouth scramble. Vancouver finally put things away with 2:16 remaining, as Santorelli took a backhand pass from Ryan Kesler and whipped a wrist shot past Berra from the bottom of the left faceoff circle.
