Islanders 3, Blackhawks 2 (OT)

Kyle Okposo scored 58 seconds into overtime to give host New York its first three-game win streak of the season.

Casey Cizikas and Thomas Vanek also scored for the Islanders, who recovered after squandering a two-goal lead to beat Chicago for the first time in five meetings. Evgeni Nabokov turned aside 37 shots to earn back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Defenseman Brent Seabrook and Ben Smith had goals for the Blackhawks, who extended their point streak to eight games (5-0-3). Corey Crawford had 31 saves in his first start since missing 10 games with a lower-body injury.

Cizikas opened the scoring with 4:36 left in the first period, poking the puck away from Bryan Bickell at the blue line and breaking in alone on Crawford, deking him before tucking a forehand into the left side. New York doubled the lead eight minutes into the middle session when Vanek collected a rebound of Matt Martin's shot and beat Crawford with a backhand from in front.

Chicago started its comeback when Seabrook accepted a cross-ice feed from Kris Versteeg and buried a one-timer from just below the left faceoff dot with 1:24 left in the middle session. Smith tied it at 1:50 of the third, converting off a scrum in front after Nabokov denied Patrick Sharp's stuff attempt and captain Jonathan Toews on the rebound.
