Jets 3, Oilers 2 (OT): Blake Wheeler fed rookie defenseman Jacob Trouba for the winning goal 1:10 into overtime to lift host Winnipeg to its third straight victory under new coach Paul Maurice.
Wheeler’s initial attempt off a rush missed the net, but he collected the loose puck and sent it in front to Trouba, who also scored a short-handed goal in the third period. Fellow rookie Mark Scheifele added a goal for the Jets while Ondrej Pavelec made 20 saves.
Jordan Eberle scored a power-play goal and David Perron tied the game for Edmonton, which finished its four-game road trip 0-3-1 and is winless in its last eight away contests. Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 36 shots for his third straight defeat.

Scheifele drove to the net from the corner and scored on a backhand 4:49 later to put Winnipeg ahead. Perron deflected defenseman Jeff Petry’s point shot around Pavelec to force overtime with two minutes remaining in regulation.
