Sabres 1, Kings 0
Jhonas Enroth turned aside 34 shots for his fourth career shutout as Buffalo extended Los Angeles' struggles on the road.
Tyler Ennis scored on the power play four minutes into the third period as the Sabres kept the Kings winless in Buffalo since Feb. 21, 2003. Enroth made 26 saves over the final two periods to register his - and the team's - first shutout since blanking Philadelphia 1-0 on April 13, 2013.
Jonathan Quick turned aside 15 shots in suffering his first career loss against the Sabres (4-1-0). It was the ninth setback in 12 road games for Los Angeles (3-5-4), which fell to 1-11-1 with a tie in its last 14 visits to Buffalo.
Ennis broke the scoreless deadlock after a puck squirted out from the corner to Matt Moulson behind the net. Moulson slid a pass to Ennis, who skated to his left from the right of the net and beat Quick to the stick side.
It was only the sixth power-play goal in 79 chances for the Sabres and snapped a shutout string of 190 minutes, 32 seconds by the Kings on the road. Enroth preserved the win with 14 saves in the third to improve to 4-0-1 in his last five starts.
