Flames 5, Jets 2

David Jones ignited a four-goal spurt that erased a deficit and led host Calgary to its seventh win in nine games.

Mason Raymond, defenseman Raphael Diaz and Brandon Bollig also scored during the outburst for the Flames, who tallied three times in the final session to increase their league-leading total to 66 third-period goals. Sean Monahan added an empty-netter, Joe Colborne notched two assists and Jonas Hiller made 17 saves.

Bryan Little recorded a goal and an assist while Blake Wheeler also tallied for the Jets, who have allowed five goals in each contest during their four-game losing streak. Captain Andrew Ladd set up both scores and Ondrej Pavelec stopped all four shots he faced in relief of rookie Michael Hutchinson, who finished with 19 saves.

Winnipeg grabbed an early lead as Wheeler fired a shot from the left faceoff circle that caromed in off the right post 1:09 into the contest. The Flames answered at 4:16, when Jones fought off a defender and beat Hutchinson with a backhander from in close, and moved ahead 1:59 into the second period as Raymond chased down a loose puck and scored on a partial breakaway.

Diaz made it 3-1 with a blast from above the slot during a power play 4:24 into the third and Bollig converted a backhanded feed from Colborne 2:59 later to increase the lead and chase Hutchinson. Little gathered a rebound and lifted a backhander under the crossbar from in front at 8:43, but Monahan sealed the win with 2:33 remaining.
