Blackhawks 2, Jets 1 (OT)
Brandon Saad scored at 3:01 of overtime as visiting Chicago topped Winnipeg for the first time in four attempts this season.
All-Star Patrick Kane skated behind the net and attempted a wraparound at the right post, but the puck went into the low slot to Saad, who buried it for his fourth game-winning goal of the season. Kane also tallied and All-Star Corey Crawford made 20 saves for the Blackhawks, who improved to 3-3-0 on their seven-game road trip after being shut out in their previous two contests.
Mark Scheifele scored the lone goal for the Jets, who have lost six in a row (0-4-2). Rookie Michael Hutchinson, who allowed three tallies while going 3-0-0 with a shutout in three previous meetings with Chicago this campaign, also turned aside 20 shots.
Winnipeg drew first blood at 4:17 of the opening period thanks to a fortunate carom. Mathieu Perreault's backhand pass attempt hit the skate of a referee and went right to Scheifele, who beat Crawford to the glove side with a shot from the left faceoff circle.
The Blackhawks knotted the contest 2:50 into the second session on a highlight-reel tally by Kane. The superstar received a pass at the blue line from Brad Richards while in full stride and streaked past several defenders in the slot before slipping a backhander past Hutchinson for his 26th of the season.
