Chicago 93, Miami 89

Luol Deng hit the go-ahead 3-point shot with 16 seconds left to help the Chicago Bulls to a 93-89 victory over the visiting Miami Heat on Thursday.

Deng hit the decisive 3-pointer from the left corner after receiving a pass from a penetrating Derrick Rose as the Bulls (39-17) defeated the Heat for the second time this season.

Rose scored a team-high 26 points and Deng had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Chicago. Dwayne Wade had 34 points and eight rebounds and LeBron James had 29 points and 10 rebounds for Miami (42-16).

Chicago used a 9-0 run to take an 89-84 lead with 1:06 to play but Wade’s basket and James’ 3-point play tied the contest with 36.8 seconds left.

Deng then hit the decisive 3-pointer to wrap up a performance in which he scored 18 second-half points.

The Heat trailed by nine points with just over seven minutes remaining before rolling off 13 straight points. Mario Chalmers’ 3-pointer put Miami ahead with 5:24 remaining and James ended the run with two free throws to give the Heat an 84-80 lead.

Carlos Boozer added 16 points and nine rebounds for the Bulls.

Miami’s Chris Bosh had just seven points and was just 1-of-18 shooting from the field.

The loss was just the second in 13 games for the Heat.
