Pistons 89, Bucks 78

Tracy McGrady scored 20 points and Richard Hamilton returned from a team-imposed hiatus with 15 as the Detroit Pistons posted an 89-78 victory over the host Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday evening.

Hamilton, the sixth all-time leading scorer in franchise history, shot 7 of 14 in 20 minutes after sitting the last 13 games because the club declared they were seeking a different look. Detroit, which played its fifth straight game without guard Rodney Stuckey, has won two in a row after four consecutive losses.

Andrew Bogut, who missed Thursday’s game with Golden State, had 18 points and nine rebounds and Corey Maggette added 15 for Milwaukee, which has lost four straight games.

Milwaukee was within six-to-10 points for the first 18 minutes of the second half before Detroit scored six straight points to take a 78-64 lead with 5 1/2 minutes to play.

Sparked by 11 points in 10 minutes by Hamilton and 59.5 percent shooting, Detroit offset a combined 27 points on 12-of-15 shooting from Bogut and Maggette to take a 52-47 lead at the break.
