Magic 110, Wizards 92

Dwight Howard had 22 points and 15 rebounds as the Orlando Magic handed the host Washington Wizards their seventh straight loss with a 110-92 decision on Friday.

Ryan Anderson, who was starting in place of the injured Brandon Bass, had 19 points and eight rebounds. Jason Richardson scored 18 as the Magic outrebounded the Wizards, 54-40.

Jameer Nelson had 11 assists for Orlando (32-19), which improved to 17-6 when Nelson has seven or more.

Rashard Lewis, who was traded by Orlando to Washington for Gilbert Arenas on Dec. 18, had 14 points and eight rebounds. Arenas had 10 points, six rebounds and six assists in his first game against his former team.

Nick Young and Kirk Hinrich scored 17 points apiece for the Wizards (13-36).

Howard made his first 10 shots from the field before he missed his last shot with 2:19 left in the third quarter. He had 19 points in the first and third periods.

The Magic trailed 62-61 with 5:09 left in the third quarter before they took control with a 24-9 run, capped by J.J. Redick’s 3-pointer with 8:48 to go in the fourth quarter. Redick had nine of his 15 points during the spurt.

Orlando improved to 7-2 on second nights of back-to-back games when the first game is at home and the second is on the road.
