Jazz 88, Warriors 87
Gordon Hayward hit the go-ahead free throw with 11 seconds left as the Utah Jazz earned their first road victory of the season, an 88-87 win over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.
With Golden State up 87-85, Utah's Al Jefferson evened things on a 14-footer with 33 seconds left. Monta Ellis turned the ball over and the Warriors fouled Hayward, but he made just one of his two foul shots to give Golden State a chance to win with nine seconds left.
The Warriors set a play for Ellis, but his 10-foot running jumper was off the mark.
Hayward finished with 18 points for the Jazz, who had lost their first three road games.
Ellis led all scorers with 32 points while David Lee added 13 points and 15 rebounds in defeat.
Utah trailed by a single point at halftime but came out blazing in the third quarter as Devin Harris and Raja Bell buried 3-pointers during a session-opening 10-2 run. Golden State chipped away at the hole and regained the lead on a Brandon Rush 3-pointer with 1:19 remaining.
Ellis added four late free throws to put the Warriors up 66-63 entering the fourth.
