Wizards 93, Raptors 78

Rashard Lewis and Nick Young led a balanced attack with 15 points apiece as the Washington Wizards finally earned their first win of the season, breezing past the visiting Toronto Raptors 93-78 Tuesday night.

The Wizards used a 21-2 run bridging the third and fourth quarters to quell a Toronto rally and end an eight-game losing skid, the longest such streak to open a season in franchise history.

Jordan Crawford had 11 points and JaVale McGee chipped in with 10 for Washington, which won at home for the first time in five tries. John Wall added eight points and nine assists.

Andrea Bargnani led the way with 22 points for the Raptors, who shot just 39.5 percent for the game.

Leading by 12 at halftime, the Wizards saw the advantage shrink to eight before Trevor Booker connected on three straight dunks to highlight a 13-2 run that put Washington up 71-52. That was the lead after three quarters, as the Raptors went the final 5:50 without a field goal.

A Lewis 3-pointer on the first possession of the fourth quarter extended the advantage to 22, and the Wizards held on from there despite yielding a 12-0 Toronto stretch midway through the period.
