Raptors 106, Wizards 89

Leandro Barbosa poured in 19 points and Amir Johnson had 18 points and 13 rebounds as the Toronto Raptors used a solid bench effort to cruise past the visiting Washington Wizards 106-89 Friday night.

Linas Kleiza added 15 points as the Raptors' bench outscored the Wizards' reserves 63-35. Jose Calderon added eight points, eight rebounds and a season-high 17 assists in the victory.

Nick Young led all scorers with 21 points for the Wizards (4-19), who fell to 1-10 away from Washington.

Toronto (8-16) erupted for 33 points in the second quarter to take a 55-44 advantage, but let that lead get whittled down to a single point before rebounding. Kleiza buried a 3-pointer with 4:43 remaining to make it a six-point game, and he hit another 3 just over a minute later to extend the lead to nine.

The Raptors went into the fourth having restored their 11-point edge, and Ed Davis knocked down back-to-back layups early in the quarter to effectively put the game away.

Friday marked just the third time all season Toronto has surpassed 100 points, and the first time at the Air Canada Centre.
