BUCKS 119, WIZARDS 118: Mike Dunleavy scored 28 points and Ersan Ilyasova hit the game-winning basket as host Milwaukee snapped a two-game slide and sent Washington to its fifth consecutive defeat.
Ilyasova finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Drew Gooden chipped in 15 and 10 and Brandon Jennings marked the Bucks’ third double-double with 14 points and 10 assists.
After Jennings lost the ball out of bounds with 12.3 seconds left, the Wizards had a chance to take the lead. John Wall got the ball and went to the baseline, rising up for an eight-foot jumper with 6.8 seconds left.
Jennings missed his opportunity for the game winner but Ilyasova was there for the offensive rebound and tip-in with 2.2 on the clock.
The Wizards trailed 67-53 at the half but hit six 3-pointers in the third quarter to take the lead.
Washington was up 100-98 with 8:33 left in the fourth quarter before going 3:00 without a field goal. Milwaukee capitalized on the drought, getting five points from Dunleavy as part of an 11-2 run.
Dunleavy hit a 3-pointer with 3:41 left before the Bucks endured their own slump, with Ilyasova’s tip marking their next field goal.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Trevor Booker collected 20 points and 11 rebounds and Wall finished with 19 points and 15 assists for Washington. … The Wizards went 21 for 21 at the free throw line and shot 13 for 24 from beyond the arc … Gooden was doubtful with a wrist injury but ended up playing 24 minutes.
