Trey Burke and Gordon Hayward scored 26 points apiece as host Utah rallied to defeat Minnesota.
Derrick Favors had 15 points and eight rebounds and Enes Kanter had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Jazz. Utah closed with a 16-2 run to turn an eight-point deficit into its fifth win in seven games.
Shabazz Muhammad recorded career highs of 30 points and five 3-point baskets for the Timberwolves, who lost their ninth straight contest. Andrew Wiggins added 21 points as Minnesota dropped to 2-14 on the road.
Muhammad’s inside basket gave the Timberwolves a 92-84 lead with 4:24 left before the Jazz rolled off the next 11 to take a three-point lead with 1:38 remaining. Gorgui Dieng scored Minnesota’s final points with 1:21 left before Hayward made four straight free throws and Favors hit one to seal it.
Burke had 13 first-half points as Utah held on to a 45-44 lead at the break. Wiggins scored 11 points in the third and the game was knotted at 72 before the Timberwolves scored the first 10 points of the final stanza.
