Alex Burrows scored his second goal of the game with 2:29 remaining in the third period to snap a tie as the league-leading Vancouver Canucks clinched first place in the Western Conference with a 3-1 road triumph over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.
Defenseman Aaron Rome scored into an empty net, All-Stars Daniel and Henrik Sedin each notched two assists and Roberto Luongo made 16 saves for the Canucks, who won their franchise-record ninth straight road game.
With time winding down in the third, Burrows received a breakout pass from Daniel Sedin and flipped a backhander over Pekka Rinne to complete his second two-goal performance of the season and give Vancouver a 2-1 edge.
Rome scored his first goal in 110 games in the final seconds to seal the Canucks' 11th win in 12 games overall.
Nashville opened the scoring with six minutes remaining in the second period as Mike Fisher beat Luongo for his 18th goal of the season. Fisher has three tallies in his last two contests following a 17-game drought.
Burrows drew Vancouver even just 77 seconds into the third. Henrik Sedin dished the puck from behind the net to Burrows, who fired it past Rinne from the right side of the crease for his 23rd tally.
Rinne stopped 29 shots for the Predators, who had won six straight overall and five in a row at home.
