Oilers 6, Predators 2

Jordan Eberle remained hot with a pair of goals and an assist as the Edmonton Oilers had their strongest road game of the season, trouncing the Nashville Predators 6-2 Tuesday night.

Eberle, Taylor Hall and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins combined for seven points for the Oilers, who won for just the fourth time in 11 games away from Edmonton. Devan Dubnyk held things down in goal, stopping 30 shots for his third win of the season.

The Oilers rode a dominant first period to a 3-0 lead. Shawn Horcoff opened the scoring at 9:31 and Ales Hemsky doubled the lead just over two minutes later, gathering up a Ryan Smyth pass and breaking in alone to beat Nashville netminder Pekka Rinne.

Eberle made it a three-goal advantage at 15:51, swooping in on a loose puck before firing a shot past Rinne. The three goals marked the end of Rinne's night, with Anders Lindback pressed into service to start the second period.

Eberle added his second of the game just inside the five-minute mark of the third period, giving the 21-year-old four goals and six assists in his last five games.

Jordin Tootoo halted Dubnyk's shutout bid with 8:28 remaining, deflecting a Shea Weber point shot with the Predators enjoying a power play. Edmonton's Jeff Petry countered on an Edmonton man advantage 50 seconds later, blasting a shot past a screened Lindback.

Horcoff struck again at 15:03, converting a Sam Gagner setup for his first multi-goal effort since Jan. 17, 2008.

Nashville's Jonathan Blum rounded out the scoring in the final minute.
