Blackhawks 4, Ducks 1
Patrick Sharp extended his points streak to eight games with a goal and an assist and Ray Emery made 24 saves against his former team as the Chicago Blackhawks dealt the Anaheim Ducks their franchise-record 10th straight road loss with a 4-1 triumph Friday.
Marian Hossa also notched a goal and an assist, Jamal Mayers and Dave Bolland added tallies and Emery registered an assist for Chicago, which improves to 6-0-1 in its last seven contests.
Sharp helped set up Hossa’s goal 67 seconds into the middle period, pouncing on a turnover in the offensive zone and feeding his teammate for a backhander from the doorstep.
He then weaved his way through three defenders midway through the third before beating Jonas Hiller for his 17th tally of the season.
Emery, who spent last season with Anaheim, came within 1:47 of his 12th career shutout and first as a Blackhawk. Teemu Selanne thwarted Emery's effort with his 10th goal of the campaign.
Hiller stopped 20 shots for the Ducks, who fell to 0-7-3 in their last 10 road games. Anaheim had gone 0-5-4 from Oct. 11-Dec. 11, 2009.
