Flyers 3, Senators 2 (OT)

Danny Briere capped his fifth career hat trick by scoring 4:54 into overtime as the host Philadelphia Flyers opened a home-and-home set against the Ottawa Senators by rallying for a 3-2 triumph on Saturday afternoon.

After leveling the contest by scoring on the team's sixth power-play attempt midway into the third period, Briere gave Philadelphia its second straight victory after cleaning up his own rebound in overtime.

Briere, who also tangled with Kyle Turris for his third career fight, opened the scoring 11:05 into the first period after converting his own rebound. That tally was his first goal in six games.

Jakub Voracek notched a pair of assists and Ilya Bryzgalov turned aside 35 shots for the Flyers.

Milan Michalek netted his team-leading 20th goal on a 5-on-3 advantage and fellow All-Star Erik Karlsson added a pair of assists for Ottawa, which saw its four-game winning streak come to an end and fell to 7-1-2 in its last 10 contests.

Bobby Butler also tallied and Craig Anderson had 36 saves for the Senators.
