Penguins 4, Capitals 3

All-Star Evgeni Malkin scored 1:31 into overtime to cap a three-point effort as the Pittsburgh Penguins won their sixth straight game with a 4-3 victory over the Washington Captials on Sunday afternoon.

After collecting two assists in regulation, Malkin capitalized on a fortuitous bounce off the end boards and snapped a shot past Michal Neuvirth to seal the victory. Malkin's goal was his ninth in six games and 26th this season.

Early in the third period, Alexander Semin fed captain Alex Ovechkin for a one-timer that just beat the outstretched pad of Marc-Andre Fleury to give Washington a 3-2 lead.

The Penguins leveled the contest when James Neal scored his second goal of the game at 7:06 into the third period.

With less than a minute to play in the third period, Troy Brouwer rifled a slapshot off the right post.

Defenseman Kris Letang also scored for Pittsburgh when he launched a point shot through a screen in the first period.
