Ducks 5, Blue Jackets 3

All-Star Corey Perry recorded his fifth career hat trick and captain Ryan Getzlaf collected three assists as the Anaheim Ducks continued their strong road play with a 5-3 triumph over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday.

Bobby Ryan notched a goal and an assist, Jason Blake also scored and Jonas Hiller made 24 saves for Anaheim, which improved to 1-0-1 on its eight-game road trip and 5-1-3 in its last nine away from home.

Teemu Selanne picked up an assist to move into a tie with Brett Hull for 21st on the all-time scoring list with 1,391 points.

Perry opened the scoring just 46 seconds into the game, firing the puck into the top right corner of the net from the left faceoff circle for his second goal in nine contests. The reigning Hart Trophy winner made it 2-0 with 3:45 remaining in the first when he beat Steve Mason from the right circle during a man advantage.

Blake and Ryan scored 82 seconds apart early in the middle session to give the Ducks a 4-1 lead, and Perry completed his second three-goal performance of the season by backhanding a loose puck past Mason while on the power play with 7:22 to go.

Both of Perry's hat tricks in 2011-12 have come against Columbus. The 26-year old also scored three times in a 7-4 home victory over the Blue Jackets on Jan. 8.

Fedor Tyutin registered a goal and an assist while fellow defenseman Aaron Johnson and Antoine Vermette also tallied for Columbus, which has lost three of four at home.
