Coyotes 3, Ducks 2 (SO)

Mikkel Boedker scored the decisive goal in the second round of the shootout as visiting Arizona rallied for its third consecutive victory.

Each team tallied in the first round of the bonus format and Mike Smith (37 saves) denied Devante Smith-Pelly on Anaheim's second attempt before Boedker fired the puck between the body and right arm of Frederik Andersen (23 saves). Ryan Kesler shot wide on the Ducks' final chance, sealing Arizona's first win over Anaheim since April 27, 2013.

Rob Klinkhammer and captain Shane Doan scored 58 seconds apart early in the second period to erase a two-goal deficit for the Coyotes, who were swept of the five-game series between the clubs last season. Captain Ryan Getzlaf returned from a one-game absence due to the flu to tally and Matt Beleskey also scored for the Ducks, who fell 0-0-2 on their four-game homestand.

Anaheim got on the board during a power play five minutes into the contest as Getzlaf swept defenseman Sami Vatanen's feed past Smith from the left faceoff circle. Beleskey doubled the lead at 8:49, when he knocked in the rebound of Jakob Silfverberg's shot for his seventh tally.

The Coyotes drew even in short order early in the second period, beginning with Klinkhammer's redirection of Martin Hanzal's one-timer from the outer edge of the left circle at 3:55. Less than a minute later, Doan beat Andersen with a wrist shot from the left circle to forge the tie.
