Jets 5, Canucks 2

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Marko Dano scored twice and added an assist as the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 Monday night.

Tyler Myers had a goal and assist for Winnipeg (29-35-5). Alex Burmistrov and Mark Scheifele also scored while Mathieu Perreault had two assists for the Jets, who have won two straight games but are 2-4-1 in their last seven road games.

Jared McCann and Jake Virtanen scored for the Canucks (27-29-12), who saw a two-game win streak snapped. Vancouver hasn't won three consecutive games all season.

Winnipeg goaltender Michael Hutchinson stopped 26 shots for his first win in four starts. Jacob Markstrom stopped 24 shots for the Canucks.

Scheifele extended his points streak to eight games (eight goals, four assists) at 2:53 of the third. Two Canucks fell, giving the Jets a two-on-nothing breakaway. Blake Wheeler flipped a pass to Scheifele, who made a nice move to beat Markstrom for his team-leading 23rd goal.

McCann got Vancouver on the scoreboard at 8:57 of the third. His shot hit Winnipeg's Chris Thorburn and sailed over Hutchinson's glove. It was McCann's first goal in 26 games.

Virtanen scored on a slapshot at 19:08.

Burmistrov's goal at 17:40 of the second put the Jets ahead 3-0.

The Jets took advantage when Canucks defenseman Dan Hamhuis turned the puck over at the blue line. Perreault passed to Burmistrov, who blasted a shot that hit the crossbar behind Markstrom and fell into the net.

Earlier in the period, Markstrom lost both his stick and catching glove during a scramble. Lying flat on the ice, he reached behind him and grabbed a puck with his bare hand before it crossed the goal line.

Myers had a hand in both goals as the Jets led 2-0 after the first period.

On Winnipeg's opening goal, Myers skated deep into the Canucks' zone along the boards, then passed to Dano. He tipped the puck over Markstrom's shoulder for his third goal of the season at 4:28.

Myers made it 2-0 at 16:45. Waiting along the boards, he took a pass from behind the net and looked to feed the puck to Scott Kosmachuk. His pass hit Vancouver's Derek Dorsett and deflected through Markstrom's legs.

Canucks defenseman Luca Sbisa and center Markus Granlund left the game due to injuries.

Granlund took a hit from Winnipeg's Burmistrov in the first period. He continued to play, then left for the dressing room and did not return for the second period because of an upper-body injury.

Sbisa was hurt when checked by the Jets' Adam Lowry during the second period. He skated to the bench holding his left arm and did not return.
