College Football Top 25, Week 3 Edition

1. Florida State

As expected, Florida State crushed The Citadel. There is little to be said about Florida State. They earned their No.1 rank last season and have not given any reason for them to be dropped at this point.

2. Oregon

After an impressive come-from-behind victory against a very good Michigan State team, Oregon jumped one spot from their No.3 spot from last week. Jumping over winning teams such as ‘Bama is not too common, but Oregon, if anyone, certainly earned it.

3. Alabama

Despite Florida Atlantic having some legit talent, Alabama steamrolled them and asserted their dominance. There is an argument to be made that Alabama should not have been jumped, but at the moment, they would still be a playoff team.

4. Oklahoma

Oklahoma smacked around Tulsa, just as they should have. Their rushing attack has been murderous thus far and, despite the mediocre competition, the Sooners have looked impressive as a whole.

5. Auburn

Just as they routed Arkansas, Auburn gave San Jose State the business in a 59-13 fashion. Gus Malzahn seems to have Auburn in the same form that he had them in last season.

6. Georgia

They may have a new quarterback at the helm, but Georgia has not lost a step. Their pass rush is arguably the best in the nation and their running back corps talent is reminiscent of the Arkansas corps of Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, and Peyton Hillis. Georgia is a quiet competitor for the SEC title.

7. Texas A&M

Many had claimed that College Station would fall off without Johnny Manziel, but Kenny “Trill” Hill has picked up right where Johnny left off. It appears as if Kevin Sumlin is a mastermind, not some gimmick who was “made” by a quarterback.

8. Baylor

Speaking of offensive masterminds, Art Briles and his offense is firing on all cylinders. Although, it is going too unnoticed that their defense has allowed just six points. Granted, the competition has not been up to par, but Baylor looks as strong as ever.

9. USC

USC climbs the ladder this week after a win over Stanford, and they will only continue to go upward. USC is the best team in the nation’s best conference (PAC 12) and there is little reason to believe they can not win out in the PAC 12 South division.

10. LSU

The Tigers kicked off the year with a smooth win over Wisconsin, followed by an easy game against Sam Houston State. The young talent on their offense is terrifying, but the fact that they are young may cause them to crumble against more established teams. For now, they deserve to be where they are, though.
