A rare August blockbuster trade just went down around the Major League Baseball world, with the Detroit Tigers sending veteran outfielder Justin Upton to the Los Angeles Angels. 

Upton will immediately take over as the Angels' every-day left fielder while the team attempts to earn a wild card spot down the stretch. The veteran was hitting .279 with 28 homers and 94 RBI prior to the trade.
