Houston Astros second baseman and likely AL MVP Jose Altuve will sit for the first time in 202 games when his team takes on the Minnesota Twins on Monday evening. There are no indications one way or another why Altuve is sitting, but it doesn't seem to be too serious. Maybe the team is simply giving him that rare day off.
Altuve entered Monday's action hitting .356 with 19 homers and 57 RBI. He'll be replaced by Marwin Gonzalez at second.
Jose Altuve has played in 202 consecutive games, but isn't in the lineup today. He could still play, mind you. — Brian McTaggart (@brianmctaggart) August 8, 2016
