After soreness in his shoulder and issues throwing to first base remained, the Toronto Blue Jays made the decision to place third baseman Josh Donaldson on the disabled list Friday due to shoulder inflammation. While the injury hasn't gotten worse, Donaldson indicated it hasn't yet progressed and the team ultimately decided to play it safe.

With Donaldson on the DL, Toronto called up outfielder Teoscar Hernandez.
