The Boston Red Sox have made a significant trade in hopes of earning a playoff appearance after a one year hiatus. The team reportedly acquired infielder Aaron Hill from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for two prospects.
Hill, 34, was hitting at a .283 clip with a .359 on-base percentage in 78 games at the time of the deal, adding eight homers and 29 RBI in the process.
He will most likely be a part of a platoon with Travis Shaw at third base in Boston.
