The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed prized free agent signing Zack Greinke on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain. Greinke left his start Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies after just two innings.

It's just the latest bad news for a player that initially struggled a great deal in the desert after signing a six-year, $206.5 million contract with the Diamondbacks in the winter.

Greinke, 32, gave up 23 earned runs in his first six starts, posting an ERA of well over seven during that span. Unfortunately for Greinke, this injury comes at a time when he's been pitching pretty well. He has posted an 8-1 record with a 2.61 ERA in his past 11 starts, winning each of his past seven decisions.
